Answer:

x + y = 6 --> (i)

x - y = 4 --> (ii)

Adding (i) and (ii)

x + y = 6

x - y = 4

2x = 10

=> x = 10/2

=> x = 5

Putting the value of x in (i)

x + y = 6

=> 5 + y = 6

=> y = 6 - 5

=> y = 1

Ans. x = 5, y = 1
