$\frac{1}{x + 2y}=\frac{1}{7} ...(2)$

By invertendo,

x - 2y = 3 ... (3)

x + 2y = 7 ...(4)

Adding eq.(3) and (4),

(x - 2y = 3) + (x + 2y = 7)

= 2x = 10

x = 5



Value of x is 5.
