by cross multiplying = 45=-5x. x=45/-5. x=-9

It goes like this :

3/ -5 = x/15
15 × 3 = x × (-5) [Cross Multiplication]
45 = -5x
45/-5 = x
x = -9

Hence , x is -9 .
