2x + 3y + 4z = 8 -------------------[ 2 ]
Multiply equation [ 2 ] by 3 :
(2 x 3)x + (3 x 3)y + (4 x 3)z = (8 x 3)
6x + 9y + 12z = 24 -------------------[ 3 ]
Subtract equation [ 1 ] from [ 3 ]:
3x + 9y + 12z = 18------------------[ 1 ]
6x + 9y + 12z = 24 ----------------[ 3 ]
[ 3 ] - [ 1 ]:
3x = 6
x = 2
Answer: x = 2
