Given:-

  • 5x° and (6x + 4)° are two supplementary angles.

To find:-

  • Value of x.

Solution:-

We know that,

Sum of two supplementary angles is 180°.

So,

⇒5x° + (6x + 4)° = 180°

⇒5x° + 6x° + 4° = 180°

⇒11x° = 180° - 4°

⇒11x° = 176°

⇒x = 176°/11

x = 16°

Verification:-

⇒5x° + (6x + 4)° = 180°

⇒5x° + 6x° + 4° = 180°

  • Put x = 16°

⇒(5×16)° + (6×16)° + 4° = 180°

⇒80° + 96° + 4° = 180°

⇒180° = 180°

Hence, Verified.

5x° = (5 × 16)° = 80°

(6x + 4)° = (6×16 + 4)° = 100°

Therefore,

Supplementary angles are 80° and 100°.
