Here l ∥ m and p is transversal

Therefore (3x+20) °+(5x−8) ° =180 ° (sum of the interior angles on the same side of a transversal)

3x+20 ° +5x−8 ° =180 °

8x+12 °=180 °

8x=180 ° −12 °

8x=168 °

x= 168°/8=21 °
