Median is the middlemost observation in a given set of data.

Given: Median = 24.

To find: The value of x.

Answer:

Observations: 8, 9, 12, 18, x + 2, x + 4, 30, 31, 34 and 39.

Total number of observations: 10.

Median = (n/2)th term + (n/2 + 1)th term/2, where n = the total number observations.

NOTE: The above formula is only to be used when n = an even number.

Median = (10/2) + (10/2 + 1)/2

24 = 5th term + 6th term/2

24 = x + 2 + x + 4/2

24*2 = 2x + 6

48 = 2x + 6

2x = 48 - 6

2x = 42

x = 42/2

x = 21

lylas: thanq soo much☺️
