x+y=7 ,so x =7-y

3x-2y=11

3(7-y) - 2y =11
21-3y -2y=11
21-11 =3y+2y
10 =5y
y=2

x=5

from first equation x=7-y
put t value of x in 2nd equation
3(7-y)-2y=11
21-3y-2y=11
21-5y=11
-5y=-10
y=2
