Answer :-

 Q) \: \sf10x + 8 = 38

Transposing 8 from LHS to RHS, changing it's sign,

 \hookrightarrow\sf10x = 38 - 8

Subtracting 8 from 38,

 \hookrightarrow\sf10x = 30

Transposing 10 from LHS to RHS, changing it's sign,

 \hookrightarrow\sf x =  \dfrac{30}{10}

Dividing 30 by 10,

 \hookrightarrow\sf x = 3

  • The value of x is 3.

  • To check our answer, let's put 3 in the place of x and check whether LHS = RHS.

LHS

 \Rightarrow\rm10x + 8

Substituting the value of x,

 \Rightarrow\rm10 \times 3 + 8

Applying the BODMAS rule and multiplying 10 with 3 first,

 \Rightarrow\rm30 + 8

Adding 8 to 30,

 \Rightarrow\rm38.

RHS

 \Rightarrow\rm38.

Since LHS = RHS,

Hence verified!
