\sf\underline{Step-by-step \: explanation}

8 : 10 : : x : x - 3

Product of extremes = Product of means

8(x - 3) = 10x

8x - 24 = 10x

Bringing like terms together,

10x - 8x = -24

2x = -24

x = -12

Hence,

x = -12

x - 3 = -12 - 3 = -15

So, the ratio will be;

8 : 10 : : -12 : -15

Verification :

Product of extremes = Product of means

8 × (-15) = 10 × (-12)

-120 = -120

Hence Verified!
