Find the value of x in the following figure.

Answer -:

Angles on one side of a straight line = 180°.

So,

40° + (6x - 2)° + 90° = 180°

40° + 6x° + 2° + 90° = 180°

40° + 6x° + 2° = 180° - 90°

40° + 6x° + 2° = 90°

6x° + 2° = 90° - 40°

6x° + 2° = 50°

6x° = 50° - 2°

6x° = 48°

=  \frac{48}{6}

= 8°.
