Here,
angleBOA= angleCOD.( BY VERTICALLY OPPOSITE ANGLE)
2+3X=62
3X=62-2
3X=60
X=60/3
X=20

The value of x = 20°

Given:

From given picture,

The measurements of ∠BOA = (2+3x)°  and ∠COD = 62°

To find:

The value of x

Solution:

From given figure,

AC and BD are two straight lines intersected at a point O, and formed the vertically opposite angles ∠BOA and ∠COD

Vertically opposite angles

  • When two lines intersect each other at a point, then the opposite angles which are formed due to intersection are called as vertically opposite angles or vertical angles.
  • A pair of vertical angles are always equal to each other.

As we know vertically opposite angles formed in given figure are

∠BOA and ∠COD

⇒ ∠BOA = ∠COD

⇒ (2+3x)° = 62°

⇒  3x = 60°

⇒  x = 20°

Therefore, the value of x = 20°
