Given,

Area of the shaded region = 24m²

we know that,

Area of shaded region = Area of outer rectangle - Area of inner rectangle

=> 24 m² = (3x × 4) - (2x × 4)

=> 24 = 12x - 8x

=> 24 = 4x

=> x = 24/4

=> x = 6 m ...(ans)

Answer:

The value of x is 3

Step-by-step explanation:

Inner rectangle :

length = 2x m

breadth = 2 m

Outer rectangle :

length = 3x m

breadth = 4 m

• Area of the shaded region = 24 m²

★ Area of rectangle = length × breadth

Area of outer rectangle :

= (3x) (4)

= 12x m²

Area of inner rectangle :

= (2x) (2)

= 4x m²

The area of the shaded region = Area of outer rectangle – area of inner rectangle

24 = 12x – 4x

24 = 8x

x = 24/8

x = 3

Therefore, the value of x is 3
