In this triangle Angle B will be equal to angle C as it is isosceles triangle.

 \cal \angle A+ \angle B+ \angle C = 180 \degree

Given -

  • ABC is an isosceles triangle.
  • ∠BAC = 40°

To find -

  • Value of x.

Solution

  • It is given that the given triangle is an isosceles triangle.

We know that adjacent angles of equal sides of an isosceles triangle are equal.

Therefore,

  • ∠ABC = ∠ACB = x

※ Sum of all angles of a triangle is 180°.

→ ∠BAC + ∠ABC + ∠ACB = 180

→ 40 + x + x = 180

→ 2x = 180 - 40

→ 2x = 140

→ x = 140/2

x = 70

Therefore,

  • Value of x is 70.
  • ∠ABC = ∠ACB = 70°
