Given.
x^4 + 1/ x^4 = 194

To find.
x + 1/x

Solution.
let find the value of (x+1/x)^2
(a+b)^2 = a^2+2ab +b^2
(x ^2+ 1/x ^2)^2= x^4 +2x^2 × 1/x ^2 +1/x^4
= x^4 + 2 + 1/x^4
= 194 +2 ..........x^4+1/x^4=194
=196
x^2+1/x^2 = 14 .......1

now let find the value of (x+1/x)^2
(x+1/x)^2 = x^2 + 2x × 1/x + 1/x^2)
= x^2 +2 + 1/x^2
= 14 + 2 ...... from 1
= 16
hence x+1/x = 4
