Given:

  • 2(x+4) = 6(x-2)

To find:

  • Value of x

Solution:

2(x+4) = 6(x-2)

=> 2x + 8 = 6x - 12

=> 2x - 6x = -12 - 8

=> -4x = -20

=> x = -20/-4

=> x = 5

Therefore,

  • Value of x in given equation is 5

Answer:

Given:-

 2 ( x + 4 ) = 6 ( x - 2 ) , what is the value of "x".

To Find:-

The value of "x".

Note:-

If there is any number or signs out of bracket, it will be multiplied to bracket value of all the numbers.

For solving a sums sometimes, we need to rearrange a term from one side to another, so~

+ becomes -

- becomes +

× becomes ÷

÷ becomes ×.

If there is a situation of negative into negative then the sum is always positive ( greater number sign ahould be put ) and if there is a situation of positive into negative then the sum is always negative ( greater number sign should be put ).

The sum is a equation and usually equation means both side term should be equal that L.H.S = R.H.S

Solution:-

According to note first point ( multiplication of number to the bracket value )~

▪︎ 2 ( x + 4 ) = 6 ( x - 2 )

▪︎ 2x + 8 = 6x - 12

Here, we need to take common terms one side together by rearranging ( note second point ) ~

▪︎ 2x - 6x = (- 12) - 8

After doing both side term calculations and accordingly to note third point~

▪︎ - 4x = - 20

Now, we will rearrange 4 to another side, which is multiple form with "x"

▪︎ x = - 20 ÷ - 4

Minus - Minus will be canceled and after doing calculations~

▪︎ x = 5

Checking:-

According to note fourth point~

 2 ( x + 4 ) = 6 ( x - 2 ) ?

 2 × 5 + 2 × 4 = 6 × 5 - 6 × 2 ?

 10 + 8 = 30 - 12 ?

 18 = 18 ?

Yes!

Hence, proved that x = 5.

Answer:-

The value of x = 5
