SoluTion:

∠BCD + ∠BCG = 180° ( Linear pair )

→ ∠BCD + 60° = 180°

→ ∠BCD = 180° - 60°

→ ∠BCD = 120°

Similarly, ∠EDF + ∠EDC = 180° ( Linear pair )

→ ∠EDC + 50° = 180°

→ ∠EDC = 180° - 50°

→ ∠EDC = 130°

In quadrilateral ABCDE ( using angle sum property )

∠A + ∠B + ∠C + ∠D + ∠E = 540°

→ 40° + x + x + 120° + 130° = 540°

→ 290° + 2x = 540

→ 2x = 540 - 290

→ 2x = 250

→ x = 250/2

→ x = 125°

Hence, value of x is 125°
