Question: Find the values of x°, y° and z°.

Answer:

30°+x°+15°=180° [Straight angle].
45°+x°=180°.

Transposing +45° to RHS:

x°=180°-45°.
x°=135°.

x°+15°+z°=180° [Straight angle].

As x°=135°:

135°+15°+z°=180°.
150°+z°=180°.

Transposing +150° to RHS:

z°=180°-150°.
z°=30°.

30°+y°=180° [linear pair].

Transposing +30° to RHS:

y°=180°-30°.
y°=150°.

CHECKING IF ALL THE VALUES OBTAINED ARE CORRECT:

30°+x°+15°+z°+y°=360° [complete angle].
45°+x°+y°+z°=360°.

Transposing +45° to RHS:

x°+y°+z°=360°-45°.
x°+y°+z°=315°.

Substituting the values of x°, y° & z° obtained by us:

135°+150°+30°=315°.
285°+30°=315°.
315°=315°.

HENCE PROVED.

Therefore, the values of x°, y° & z° are:

\huge{\boxed{i) \:  \: x° =135° }}
 \huge{\boxed{ii) \:  \:  y° = 150°}}
\huge{\boxed{iii) \:  \: z° = 30°}}
