Find the value of x + y, if 15x + 17y = 85 and 17x + 15y =75

subtracting eq no.1 &2

15x+17y = 85 -------- (1

-17x+15y =75---------- (2

we get 2x+2y=10 ----------(3

dividing eqn. 3 by 2

we get

x+y=5
