as we know that the sum of angles on a particular point on a straight line is 180 

180= y + 70 

180 - 70 = y

110= y

==========================================================

Now,

180 = sum of all angles of a triangle

180 = 30 + 110 + x


180= 140 + x

180 -140 = x

40  = x

y + 70=180 (linear pair angle=180)
y= 180-70
y= 110
now
x+y+30=180 (sum of angle of triangle is equal to 180)
x+110+30=180
x+140=180
x=180-140
x=40.
