Given,

AB║ CE

So, case (i)

If we take BD as a transversal of parallel lines AB and CE

             ∠ECD = ∠ABC  [∵corresponding angles]

∴  ∠ABC = z = 40°

Then, case (ii)

∠ACB + ∠ACE + ECD =  180°  [∵Linear pair]

=> x + 70° + 40° = 180°

=> x + 110° = 180°

=> x = 180°- 110°

       = 70°

According to cases (i) and (ii),

∠BAC + ∠ACB + ∠ABC = 180°   [∵Sum of all the interior angles of a triangle]

=> y + 70° + 40° = 180°

=> y + 110° = 180°

=> y = 180°- 110°

       = 70°

Hence, x= 70° , y= 70° and z = 40° (Ans)
