Solution:

value of x:

x+8 = 16-x ( diagonals bisect each other)

x+x+8-16 = 0

2x-8 =0

2x = 0+8

x = 8÷2

x = 4

value of y:

2y + 13 = 5y +4 ( diagonals bisect each other)

2y-5y = 4-13

-3y = -9

y = -9/-3

y = 3

Hence x = 4 and y = 3
