This because, corresponding angles are equal if the lines are parallel. In this case, the line PQ and RS are parallel to each other, this means that their correcrsponding angles will be equal. So the corresponding angle of y is 120°. Corresponding Angles are angles which have the same relative position. We can say that they are congruent. So the angle 120° above the angle y has a similar position to that of the angle y, this means their corresponding angles. Well all you need to know is, if 2 angles are in a similar position to that of the ones given in the picture, their called Corresponding Angles.
