√{(x2-x1)^2 + ( y2-y1)^2},
therefore,
√[(4-3)^2 + (1-a)^2] = √10,
=> √(1+(1-a)^2) =√10,
=> (1-a)^2 = 10-1 =9,
=> 1-a = 3,
=> a = -2.
