then

x+t=6

now square both sides

(x+t)^2=x^2 +t^2 +2 x*t =36

as t =1/x

so x*t =1

so

36=x^2+t^2 +2

now x^2 +t^2 is 34

now

(x-t)^2 will be x^2 + t^2 -2 (as t*x=1)

now we know that

34=x^2+t^2

we just put the value

(x-t)^2=34 - 2=2

so

x-t = √32
