⇒3+√2 × 3+√2/ 3-√2 × 3-√2 = a+b√2

⇒(3+√2)² / (3)²- (√2)² = a+b√2

⇒(3)² + (√2)² + 2(3)(√2) / 9 - 2 = a+b√2

⇒9 + 2 + 6√2 / 7 = a+b√2

⇒11 + 6√2 / 7 = a+b√2

⇒11/7 + 6√2/7 = a+b√2

so, a = 11/7

    b = 6/7
