Complete Question is

C - 5  =  8

=> C  =  3    (as 13 - 5 = 8)

=> 1 has been taken from B

=> B - 1 - C  = 8

=> B  - 1 - 3  = 8

=> B = 12   =>  B = 2

=> 1 has been taken from A

A - 1  -  B  =  4

=> A - 1 - 2 = 4

=> A = 7

8 -A = D

=> 8 - 7 = D

=> D = 1
