To find the value of k...for equal roots..compare the p(x) with ax^2+bx+c=0

We get...a=k+1 b= k and c=-2

Now,

b^2-4ac=0

K^2-4×k+1×-2=0

K^2-4k-3=0

K^2=4k+2

K=√4k+2
