Find the values of k for which the roots of the equation 4x- 2(k + 1) x +x+ 4 = 0 are real and equal.

4x-2(k+1)X+X+4 =0

4x-(2k-2)X+X +4=0

4x (2k-2)X+X+4=0

4x(2k-2) 2x=4

(2k-2)4x*2x=4

(2k-2) 8x =4

(2k-2)=4/8

(2k-2) =1/2

2k= 1/2+2

2k=5/2

k=5/2*2

k = 5
