GIVEN :
The values x=2 and -3 are zeroes of the polynomial
TO FIND :
The the values of m and n for which x=2 and -3 are zeroes of the polynomial
SOLUTION :
Given that the values x=2 and -3 are zeroes of the polynomial
That is the given polynomial is satisfied for the value x=2.
Put x=2 in the polynomial we get,
Since x=-3 is zero for the given polynomial then it is satisfied for the value x=-3.
Put x=-3 in the polynomial we get,
Now solving the equations (1) and (2) by subtracting (1) by (2)
-4m+2n=-12
6m+2n=-27
(-)_(-)_(+)____
-10m+0=15
∴
Substitute the value of m in the equation (1) we have,
2n=-12-6
∴ n=-9
∴ the value of m and n are and -9 respectively.
∴ the values are and n=-9 in the given polynomial
