=> x = 1
and x + 2 = 0
=> x = -2
Therefore, p(1) = 0
=> 2 × 1³ + m × 1² + n × 1 - 14 = 0
=> 2 + m + n - 14 = 0
=> m + n = 12 ————> (i)
and p(-2) = 0
=> 2 × (-2)³ + m × (-2)² + n × (-2) - 14 = 0
=> -16 + 4m - 2n - 14 = 0
=> 4m - 2n = 30 ————> (ii)
Now,
equ'n (i) × 4
=> 4m + 4n = 48
4m + 2n = 30
