Since X and 50° form a linear pair.
Hence, X + 50 = 180°
=> X = 180° - 50°
=> X = 130°
Since vertically opposite angles are equal.
Hence, Y = 130°
Clearly, X = Y = 130°
This means that alternate interior angles are equal.
Hence, AB || CD.
