Answer : The final velocity of object when it hits the ground is 100m/s

Explanation:

Let :

1) u = initial velocity of object = 0 m/s

2) v = final velocity of object = ? m/s

3) g = acceleration due to gravity = 10m/s²

4) h = height from which the object is dropped = 500m

By using the kinematic equation to calculate the final velocity.

v² = u² + 2gh

Since u = 0 m/s, u² can be left out and the equation can be rewritten.

v² = 2gh

v² = (2 × 10m/s² × 500 m) = 10,000 m²/s²

v = √ 10000 m/s

v = 100 m/s

Because the velocity is downward, the final velocity = -100m/s
