Explanation:

Given, mass of substance, m=50g;

volume, V=20cm3; density, ρ=?

The density of substance given is

d=Vm=20cm350g=2.5gcm−3

Hence the density of the substance is greater than the density of water. Hence the weight acting downwards Vdg is greater than the buoyant force acting upwards Vρwaterg.

Hence the substance will sink in water

Answer:

Since , Density = Mass / Volume

ATQ,

0.5 = 30/ V

0.5V = 30

V = 30/0.5

V = 60cm³ Ans

Hence, volume is 60cm³

Hope This helps ☺️
