Find the volume (in

c.c.) of a frustum (fraction of a cone) whose height is 14 cm and the diameters of the circular base and top are 12 cm and 6 cm.

Given:  

R = 6 cm   (D = 12 cm)

 r = 3 cm    (D = 6 cm)

h = 14 cm
____________________________________________________________

Volume of Frustum =  1/3 πh (R²+r²+Rr)

                               = 1/3 × 22/7 × 14 ( 6² + 3² + 6×3)

                               = 44/3 (36+9+18)

                               = 44/3 × 63
 
                               = 924 cm³
