Question:

Find the volume , lateral surface area and total surface area. of each of the cylinders whose dimensions are radius of the base 21 cm height 4 cm.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Given :

  • Radius of base of cylinder = 21 cm
  • Height of cylinder = 4cm

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

To find :

  • Volume of cylinder
  • Lateral surface area of cylinder
  • Total surface area of cylinder

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Solution :

(i) Volume of cylinder :- πr²h

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ= 22/7 × 21 × 21 × 4

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ= 5538.96 cm³

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

(ii) Lateral surface area of cylinder = 2πrh

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ= 2 × 22/7 × 21 × 4

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ= 528 cm²

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

(iii) T.S.A of cylinder = 2πr(r+h)

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ= 2 × 22/7 × 21 (21 +4)

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ= 3300 cm²

Answer:

Volume of the cylinder :

\pi {r}^{2} h

=22/7 ×21 × 21 ×4

= 5544 cm³

Surface area of the cylinder:

2\pi \:rh

=2×22/7×21×4

=528 cm²

Total surface area of cylinder:

2\pi \: r(r + h)

=2×22/7 × 21 (21+4)

=2 × 22/7 × 21 × 25

=3300 cm³
