Given:

  • area of base, A = 220 cm²
  • height of cylinder, h = 10 cm

To Find:

  • volume of cylinder, V = ?

We know,

 \quad \bold{Area \: of \: base = \pi r^2}  \\ \Rightarrow \pi \times r^2 = 220 \\ \Rightarrow r^2 = \frac{220 \times 7}{22} \\ \Rightarrow r^2 = 70 \qquad \bold{(1)}

We know,

 \quad \bold{ Volume \: of \: Cylinder = \pi r^2 h} \\ \Rightarrow \frac{22}{\cancel{7}} \times \cancel{70} \times 10 \qquad [ r^2 = 70, \: from \: \bold{(1)} ] \\ \Rightarrow 22 \times 10 \times 10 \\ \Rightarrow 2200 \\ \\ \huge{\bold{Answer: \: 2200 \: cm^3 }}
