Given:

  • A solid is made up of a cube of edge 7 cm mounted by a hemisphere of diameter 7 cm.

To find:

  • Volume of solid ?

Solution:

• Let's consider ABCD is a solid.

Where,

  • Cube edge = 7cm
  • Diameter of hemisphere = 7cm

• Let diameter of the hemisphere be d.

⠀⠀━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━⠀

« Now, Finding volume of cube,

Volume = egde³

→ (7)³

343 cm³

⠀⠀━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━⠀

« Now, Let's find volume of hemisphere,

Volume = 2/3 × π ×

  • Radius = Diameter/2 = 7/2 = 3.5cm

→ 2/3 × 22/7 × (3.5)³

→ 44/21 × 42.875

89.833 cm³

⠀⠀━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━⠀

« Lastly, Let's find volume of solid.

Volume of cube + Volume of hemisphere

→ 343 + 89.833

432.833 cm³

∴ Hence, Volume of hemisphere is 432.833cm³.
