Solution :-

Outer dimensions = 60 × 45 × 32

Thickness of wood = 2.5cm

l = 60 - 2 (2.5) = 55cm

b = 45 - 2(2.5) = 45cm

h = 32 - 2(2.5) = 27cm

∴ The capacity of the box

➻ l×b×h = ( 55 × 40 × 27)cm³

➻ 59400cm³

Total volume of box = L × B × H

➻ (60 × 45 × 32)cm³

➻ 86400cm³

∴ Volume of wood used =Total volume - Actual capacity

➻ 86400 - 59400

➻ 27000cm³
