Answer:42.285375kg

Step-by-step explanation:Total volume of the box=36cm x 25cm x 16.5cm

                                                                                     =14850cm^3

since the box is 1.5cm thick , the inner dimensions of the box are 36cm-2 x 1.5cm , 25cm-2 x 1.5cm and 16.5cm-2 x 1.5cm.

Hence the volume if inner dimensions is=33cm x 22cm x 13.5cm

                                                                         =9801cm^3

So, the volume of iron required to make the box is 14850cm^3-9801cm^3 -the volume of the upper surface (as the box is opened)

=14850cm^3-9801cm^3 -74.25cm^3

=4974.75cm^3

therefore weight of the iron is 4974.75x 8.5grams=42285.375grams=42.285375kilograms.
