Answer: Volume of earth dug out = 692.37 m³

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Depth of well = 24.5m, radius of the well = 3 m

To Find : Find the volume of the earth dug out from a circular well .

Concept :

Volume of a circular well is similar to the volume of a cylinder. When the surface area is multiplied by the depth , it gives volume of the cylinder.

Volume of the earth dug out will be equal to volume of the circular well.

Volume of the circular well = \pi r^{2} h

where, r is the radius of the circular well and h is the depth of the well.

∴ Volume of the earth dug out = \pi (3)^{2} (24.5)

                                                   = 692.37m^{3}
