Answer:

1077.5 or 1078 m^3

Step-by-step explanation:

The volume of cylinder is πr^2h

therefore volume = (3.14 X 3.5^2 X 28 ) m^3

=1078 m^3

Given :- Find the volume of the mud removed from the well of depth 28m and diameter 7m.

A) 156m³

B) 1078 m³

c) 578 m³

D) 278 m³

Solution :-

since a well is in the form of a cylinder .

so,

→ volume of the mud removed from the well = Volume of cylinder .

→ volume of the mud removed from the well = π * (radius)² * height .

given that,

  • Diameter of well = 7m => Radius = Diameter/2 = (7/2) m .
  • Depth of well = 28 m = Height of well.

then,

→ Volume of mud = (22/7) * (7/2)² * 28

→ Volume of mud = (22 * 7 * 28)/4

→ Volume of mud = 22 * 7 * 7

→ Volume of mud = 22 * 49

→ Volume of mud = 1078 (B) (Ans.)
