Find the volume of wood required to make a closed box with external dimensions 30 cm

by 25 cm by 20 cm where the thickness of wood is 3 cm​

External length=30cm

External breadth =20cm

External height=20cm

To get internal dimensions, we subtract double the thickness from each external dimension.

Inter length =30cm-6cm=24cm

Internal breadth = 25cm-6cm=19cm

Internal height =20cm-6cm=14cm

External volume of the box

=(30*25*20)cm³ =15000cm

Internal volume of the box

=(24*19*14*)cm³ =6384cm³

Volume of wood

= External volume - Internal volume

= 15000cm³- 6384cm³ =8616cm³
