♦ Before solving we must know .

• What is wavelength ?

→ The distance between two Trough or Crest is called wavelength of given wave .

• What is frequency ?

→ The rate of occurrence of wave in one sec .

>> Frequency =  \dfrac{1}{Time\: Period}


♦ Given that

Frequency :- 1200 kHz

= 1200 × 1000 Hz

= 1200000 Hz

Wave type :- Sound wave

♦ So speed of sound waves is not provided we will take it as 340 m/s

♦ Then as

wavelength = Speed of wave ÷ Frequency

 \lambda = \dfrac{c}{f}

 \lambda = \dfrac{340}{1200000}

 \lambda = \dfrac{2.83}{10000}

 \lambda = 2.83 \times 10^{-4}

♦ So wavelength =  2.83 \times 10^{-4} m .
