Given data :-

  • The weight of a stone on the surface of the earth if its mass is 20 kg. {g = acceleration due to gravity = 9.8 m/s²}

Solution:-

Weight is product of mass and acceleration due to gravity.

Here, according to given

→ Mass ( m ) = 20 kg

→ Acceleration due to gravity ( g ) = 9.8 m/s²

Here, 'w' is weight

→ w = m × g

→ w = 20 × 9.8

→ w = 196 N

The weight of a stone on the surface of the earth is 196 N.
