Let the original weight be x

So given weight of the dog is 1/3rd of original weight + 8

Since original weight = x
1/3 = x/3

Also, original weight = 8 + x/3

but original weight = x

=> x = 8 + x/3

=> 8 = x - x/3

=> 8 = 3x/3 - x/3

=> 8 = 2x/3

=> 2x/3 = 8

=> x = 8 × 3/2

=> x = 4 × 3

=> x = 12

Hence its weight is 12kg

Hope it helps dear friend ☺️

hey there

Let the original weight be x .

So given weight of the dog is 1/3rd of original weight + 8

original weight = x/3

original weight (can also be written as) = 8 + x/3 but original weight = x

x = 8 + x/3=

8 = x - x/3

8 = 3x/3 - x/3

8 = 2x/3

2x/3 = 8

x = 8 × 3/2

x = 4 × 3 => x = 12

therefore the weight of the dog is 12kg
