The weight of the suspended body is \frac{20}{\sqrt{2} }

Given : The tension in the diagonal string is 20 N

To Find : Weight of the suspended body

Solution : The weight of the suspended body is \frac{20}{\sqrt{2} }

It is given that the tension in the diagonal string is 20 N

we have to find the weight of the suspended body

Now as the tension is acting diagonally so resolve the tension into its two components horizontal and vertical

Horizontal component of the tension force is 20 Sin(theta)

and vertical component of the tension force is 20 Cos(theta)

The weight of the suspended body is acting downwards

so vertical component of tension force will be considered

Vertical component is 20 Cos(45)

= \frac{20}{\sqrt{2} }

So the weight of the suspended body is \frac{20}{\sqrt{2} }
