Answer:

use Pythagoras theorem

Step-by-step explanation:

a^2 +b^2 =c^2

In triangle PBR

4^2+x^2=5.8^2

16+x^2=33.64

X=√33.64-16

X=√17.64

X=4.2m

In triangle RDQ

4.2^2+y^2=5.8^2

17.64+y^2=33.64

y^2=√33.64-17.64

y=√16

y=4 m

line BD measures , X+y

=(4.2+4)m

=8.2m
