The cost price of 20 articles is the same as the selling price of x articles. If the profit is 25%, then find the x article?

let  the  cost of  1 article =  c  and  sales  price  of 1 article =  s

cost  of  x  aricles =  c x  and  cost  price of  20 articles =  20 c

sales  price  of  x  articles =  s x

so  20 c =  s x   or   x  =  20 c / s

since  profit is  25%,  s - c / c =  25/ 100 = 1/4

so  4s - 4c = c  or  4s =  5c

substituting  we  get   x =  4s / s = 4

Answer   x = 4
