The value of X co-ordinate is equal to 3

The ratio in which the point divides the line joining P1(5,0) and P2(0,4) is 2:3 internally.

Let the ratio be m1:m2 = 2:3

Using the formula for internal division of a line

X = (m1 x2 + m2 x1) / (m2+m1)

x1 = 0 , x2 = 5

=> (2×0+3×5) / 2+3

=> 15/5

=> 3

The X co-ordinate of the point dividing the line joining the points is 3.
